A sweater has been sitting in the back of your mind for a while now. Maybe years. You’ve knit plenty of other things, but a sweater felt like a different category—more complicated, more commitment, more places for something to go wrong.

This is the class that gets your first sweater off your wish list and onto your needles.

Over three sessions with Jennifer, you’ll knit a complete top-down raglan sweater from cast-on to finishing—and you’ll do it in a child’s size. Not because it’s easier, but because it’s faster. The same construction, the same techniques, and the same pattern logic you’d use for an adult sweater—just enough yarn to finish in three weeks instead of three months.

By the time you bind off, you’ll have made your first sweater. More importantly, you’ll understand how sweaters go together—and you’ll know how to make the next one. Once you’ve made one, the mystery disappears.

We’ll use the Flax pattern by Tin Can Knits—a beautifully written, genuinely beginner-friendly raglan that’s become a favorite first sweater for knitters around the world. It’s available free on Ravelry, the Tin Can Knits website, or in the shop.
