DIFFICULTY LEVELS
- Throughout the year we offer classes for every level of experience, even those who've never held a hook or needle before. Each class has a level rating to help you decide the best fit for you.
- Level 1: What’s knitting?
- Level 2: I’ve been practicing my basic knit or crochet stitches and I’m ready to learn to read a pattern
- Level 3: Look, I made some stuff! I can knit and purl, knit in the round, increase and decrease, and I’m ready to try something new.
- Level 4: I know what I don’t know, and I’m ready to tackle advanced techniques.
- Level 5: I’m very experienced, but there’s always something new to learn!
GENERAL POLICIES
- Timeliness - Please be on time. We cannot accept students after 15 minutes of the start time of class. If you are later than 15 minutes and are not allowed into class, we cannot offer you a store credit or refund for the missed class.
- Time Usage – Class time is scheduled based on the assumption that enrolled students have the necessary skills listed and have completed any pre/homework. Out of respect for the teacher’s time and the other students in the class, please be sure to read the full class description and have any homework done before the start of class. If you are unprepared for class, the teacher may not have time to catch you up. If you have any questions about the prerequisite skills, please talk to a KGY staff member.
- Discount - Students receive a one-time 10% off discount card for after and up to four weeks following your class to be used in the shop (not applicable online). You will receive the discount card at your class.
- Accommodations - Please let Knitty Gritty Yarns staff of any health issues that we need to accommodate in advance of the class. We will make every effort to make your experience instructive, positive, and fun.
REGISTRATION
- Unless otherwise indicated, our regular groups and classes are for adults.
- Payment is due at registration. We are unable to hold spaces in classes and workshops without prepayment.

- Notification - You will be notified by “contact@knittygrittysyr.com" about class needs, reminders, and any updates. Please make sure these emails are not in your Spam Folder.

CANCELLATION
- Student Cancellation - For cancellations, or to switch a date, we require one week notice before the start of your first class in order to receive a refund. If you need to cancel a class or switch dates and the one week deadline has not passed, please email us at contact@knittygrittysyr.com to do so and we are happy to help. If you have a last minute cancellation, please contact the shop. If we are able to fill your seat, we are happy to provide you with a store credit for 50% of your class fees, even within the 1 week time frame. We understand that emergencies happen, so we will do everything possible to find someone to take your spot. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a store credit if we are not able to fill your space.
- Inclement Weather - If we cancel or reschedule classes due to weather or instructor illness you will be notified ASAP by email. Make sure “contact@knittygrittysyr.com” emails go to your inbox and not your spam filter.
- Low Enrollment - If a class cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified at least 72 hours before the first class. If an individual session has to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. weather, instructor’s illness, etc.), you will be notified as soon as possible and it will be rescheduled.
- If the class is multiple days and hasn’t started yet, the first class will be on the next class date. We will do our best to reschedule any makeup classes. If the class can’t be rescheduled or attended by you, Knitty Gritty Yarns will issue you a refund for the amount of time missed.
- If your cancellation is covid related please give us a call.
- Private lessons can be rescheduled without an additional fee when we have 48 hours notice. Cancel by sending an email to contact@knittygrittysyr.com so that it can be properly time-stamped.
