Colourspun

Colourspun is Jody Long's self-striping bulky, with color sequences long enough to produce broad, graphic stripes without knitting a stitch of colorwork.

At this gauge, those long stretches of color have room to develop. Instead of breaking into little flecks or narrow bands, they make substantial stripes that read clearly across a hat, scarf, or sweater. Plain stockinette is enough to show them off, which makes Colourspun a good choice when you want plenty going on visually without adding complexity to the knitting.

The wool-acrylic blend brings together warmth and a little texture from the wool with the easy care of acrylic. It's machine washable, making it a practical choice for everyday sweaters, hats, scarves, cowls, and other pieces likely to see regular wear.

The colorways range from quieter naturals to saturated brights, but they all use those long color sequences to make the stripes part of the yarn rather than another technique you have to add to the project.

Colourspun is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and mulesing-free.
