Cumulus Rainbow

Cumulus Rainbow takes everything we like about Cumulus and lets the color do the changing for you.

The base is the same 94% cotton and 6% nylon blend, built with the airy chainette construction that gives Cumulus its loft, drape, and unusual amount of give for a cotton yarn. It's soft against bare skin, machine washable, and comfortable across three seasons — especially useful if you want a wool-free option that doesn't feel dense or stiff.

Each skein moves through one long gradient from beginning to end. Rather than repeating stripes, the colors gradually transition as you work through the yarn. How much of that progression appears in your finished project depends on its size and yardage: a small accessory may capture only part of the gradient, while a larger piece gives the full color story room to unfold. Simple stitches work particularly well here, giving those long transitions plenty of room to show.

Juniper Moon changed the source cotton in 2025, moving from Egyptian Mako cotton to organic American cotton. The mill in Biella, Italy, and the distinctive Cumulus construction stayed the same.
