Alga Solid
Three plant-based fibers, zero animal products, and one of them is made from actual seaweed.
Alga is a light weight yarn from Araucania — 65% organic cotton, 23% bamboo viscose, and 12% Seacell, a viscose fiber derived from seaweed. The cotton forms the base: breathable, sturdy, and naturally absorbent. The bamboo adds a silky drape and a soft sheen that bamboo blends are known for. The Seacell is the interesting part: it's a processed seaweed fiber that's notably soft against the skin, and it gives the finished fabric a subtle luminosity and a cool, smooth hand that neither cotton nor bamboo achieves on its own.
Vegan, certified organic cotton, and machine washable. The gauge range — 21 to 24 sts per 4 inches knit, 12 to 17 single crochet — is wide enough to work with needles or a hook depending on how open or dense you want the finished fabric. The colorway names tell you exactly what to expect: Deep Space, Seabed, Linen Sheets, Red Clay. These are not bubble-gum brights. They're the kind of palette that makes a summer top look like it was styled.
Best for warm-weather garments, wraps, and accessories where drape and breathability matter more than structure. If you prefer hand-painted colorways, Alga is the same base in a variegated range.
