Alga
Three plant-based fibers, zero animal products, and one of them is made from actual seaweed — now in hand-painted colorways.
Alga is a light weight yarn from Araucania — 65% organic cotton, 23% bamboo viscose, and 12% Seacell, a viscose fiber derived from seaweed. The cotton forms the base: breathable, sturdy, and naturally absorbent. The bamboo adds a silky drape and a soft sheen. The Seacell is the interesting part: it's a processed seaweed fiber that gives the finished fabric a subtle luminosity and a cool, smooth hand that neither cotton nor bamboo achieves on its own.
This version of Alga comes in hand-painted variegated colorways — Moss, Radiance, Bloom, Glow, Revival, Sunset — with the kind of color movement that adds visual interest without requiring any colorwork. The same fiber, the same drape, the same breathability, just with a palette that does more of the talking. Vegan, organic cotton certified, and machine washable on gentle.
Best for warm-weather garments, wraps, and accessories where you want the color to carry the project. If you prefer solid colorways for colorwork or stitch definition, Alga Solid is the same base in a range of rich, clean tones.
