Amitami are little crochet characters you make yourself, with everything you need packed into one kit. The name combines the Japanese words ami (to knit, crochet, or weave) and tami (people or folk)—the “little people of crochet.”

Collection 2 uses a smooth 60% cotton/40% acrylic yarn, making it much easier to see your stitches than the fuzzy chenille used in the original collection. The patterns are simple, straightforward amigurumi, so this is the collection we'd choose for someone making their first crocheted creature. You'll still need to know—or be ready to learn—the basic crochet skills used in amigurumi, but the yarn isn't making the job harder than it needs to be.

Each kit includes everything needed to make one Amitami character, including the yarn, embroidery thread for features and details, 2.5 mm crochet hook, stuffing, tapestry needle, stitch marker, and pattern. Collection 2 also includes an optional keychain, so your finished Amitami can become a little bag charm or keychain instead of living exclusively on a shelf.
