A strand of Aerial can change another yarn without covering up what you liked about it in the first place.

This very fine blend of Superkid mohair and silk creates the soft halo we associate with mohair, with almost no added weight. Hold it alongside another yarn to soften the surface, add warmth, or shift the color; a close match makes the effect subtle, while a contrasting shade can change the character of the fabric entirely.

Aerial can also be used on its own. Worked at a loose gauge, that same halo becomes the fabric: light, sheer, and surprisingly warm for something that weighs almost nothing. Changing the needle size gives you a lot of control over whether the finished fabric feels delicate and open or fuller and more substantial.

The silk core gives all that fine mohair something strong to hold onto and adds a subtle sheen. With 284 yards in a 25g ball, Aerial goes a long way without adding bulk when you're carrying it with another yarn.

Mohair does have a personality of its own. The halo can soften very crisp stitch definition, and ripping back is slower because those fine fibers like to catch on one another. For the same reason, we recommend working from the outside of the ball rather than pulling from the center. It's worth swatching before committing to a combination—not just for gauge, but to see what the mohair does to the color and surface of your other yarn.
