Eco Tweed
Organic, mulesing-free, OEKO-TEX certified, and it has flecks. This yarn is doing a lot of things right.
Eco Tweed is 75% GOTS-certified organic Merino wool and 25% polyamide, spun into a light weight yarn with the kind of tweedy character that makes simple stitches look considered. The base color is tonal — deep, slightly complex, not flat — and scattered throughout with tiny bright flecks that add just enough visual interest without competing with stitch patterns. Cables, textured knits, and straightforward stockinette all look good in this. The polyamide keeps it durable enough for hard-wearing garments and accessories without losing the soft hand of the Merino.
Three certifications worth knowing about: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) covers the entire production chain, not just the fiber; OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifies it's free from harmful substances; and mulesing-free means the wool was sourced from sheep raised without that practice. If you care about where your wool comes from and how it was produced, this one has the documentation to back it up.
