Knitting Rx
Every knitter has that project. The one with the mystery mistake. The one that got frogged three times. The one you finally exiled to a basket because you couldn’t bear to look at it anymore.
Knitting Rx is a two-hour skills class that turns the mistakes that stop knitters in their tracks into skills they’ll come back to again and again. More than learning how to fix common mistakes, you’ll learn how to read your knitting well enough that those mistakes stop feeling like mysteries. You’ll understand what you’re looking at, spot problems earlier, and know exactly what to do next.
By the end of class, the next mistake won’t feel like the end of your project. It’ll just be the next thing you know how to fix.
Before class there's a little homework. Before you arrive, you’ll knit two small practice swatches at home and bring them to class on your needles—one in garter stitch and one in stockinette, each approximately 4×4 inches, using light-colored worsted weight yarn. Do not bind off. Full prep instructions are below.
You’ll learn to:
- Read your knitting and understand what you’re seeing
- Identify and fix a twisted stitch
- Know which direction to knit when you stop mid-row
- Run a lifeline
- Pick up stitches in garter and stockinette
- Put dropped stitches back on the needle
- Fix an accidental yarn over
