Amitami are little crochet characters you make yourself, with everything you need packed into one kit. The name combines the Japanese words ami (to knit, crochet, or weave) and tami (people or folk)—the “little people of crochet.”

Collection 1 uses soft chenille yarn, giving Flopsy the Bunny, Olly the Octopus, Rex the Dinosaur, and the rest of the collection their plush, fuzzy finish. The patterns themselves are fairly straightforward amigurumi, but chenille can make the stitches harder to see and count. If this is your very first amigurumi project, we'd recommend starting with Collection 2 instead. If you're already comfortable working in the round and keeping track of your stitches, these are small, manageable projects with very cute results.

Each kit includes the yarn needed for one character, embroidery thread for features and details, a 2.5 mm crochet hook, stuffing, tapestry needle, stitch marker, and the Amitami pattern.
