What happens when you take the softness of superwash Merino and add just enough linen to make it interesting.

The Linen Wool Single is hand-dyed by Mary at 29 Bridges Studio in rural Maryland — small batches, often dyed to order, in richly layered colorways that reward looking at them up close. The base is 90% superwash Merino, 10% linen, spun as a single ply. The Merino brings the softness and the color absorption that makes Mary's dyework sing; the linen adds a subtle texture, a hint of structure, and a drape that you don't usually get from a pure wool fingering. Together they make a yarn that's lighter and airier than most fingering weights, with a bit of natural sheen and a slightly rustic quality that photographs beautifully.

Single ply means it splits more easily than a plied yarn under aggressive needles, but it also means the finished fabric has a lovely halo and drape that plied yarn can't replicate. Best for garments, shawls, and accessories where drape matters more than hard-wearing durability. Machine washable on gentle.

Every colorway at KGY reflects Mary's eye for color — subtle enough to be wearable, complex enough to be interesting.
