Gauge Matters
Does gauge matter? In this 2 hour class, you will learn when to knit a gauge swatch, what to do if your gauge does not match the pattern suggestion and options to get the gauge and fit you are looking for.
Time: 1 two-hour class
Level 2: I can knit and purl and am ready to learn something new.
Skills you need: Cast on, knit, purl, bind off
Skills you will learn:
- How to gauge swatch
- How to get the suggested gauge
- Alternatives to get the fabric desired
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn, in a light color.
- Needles in the suggested size for the yarn, plus at least 2 additional sizes (bigger and smaller).
- Tape measure
Suggested Yarns:
- Berroco Vintage
- Berroco Ultra Wool
For the best experience, we recommend that you bring a variety of needle sizes to experiment with how worsted weight yarn works with different sizes. Additionally, you may want a notebook and pen to take notes.
